Beer 301 breaks down how beer interacts with food by comparing beer and wine and reviewing tips on pairing beer with food, storing and aging beer and cooking with beer. Topics covered include:

  • The five senses of beer
  • Taste vs. smell
  • The importance of glassware
  • Differences between breweries and vineyards
  • Tips on cellaring beer
  • Choosing what type of beer to cook with
  • Food pairings that include cheese, meat, fruit, spice and sweets 

Each Flying Dog University course ends with a tasting of flying Dog beers and includes a build-your-own-six-pack to take home. All attendees must be 21 or older. All sales are final and classes are nontransferable or refundable.
