72 Film Fest: Time to Shock and Awe

In the course of 72 hours, most of us go to work, eat, drink, sleep, and (if we’re lucky) have a good poop.

In the 72 hours between Thursday, October 11 and Sunday, October 14, teams in Frederick’s 72 Hour Film Fest will direct, edit, and score a short film with a script handed to them just before the competition bell tolls.

And YOU can still be a part of the creative, sleep-deprived madness.

Registration for 72 Film Fest, sponsored by yours truly, is open until Thursday, October 11.

Also new to the fest this year is the Flying Dog Shock and Awe Award. More prestigious than a Razzie and less pretentious than the Grand Prix at the Festival de Cannes, the Flying Dog Shock and Awe Award is a critic’s choice judged by our in-house filmmaker Tim Martin. A graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art, Tim is nationally acclaimed filmmaker and the mastermind behind Flying Dog Productions

All films entered in the 72 Film Fest will be screened at the Weinberg Center for the Arts on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20. To purchase tickets to the screenings or for more information, visit the 72 Film Fest’s website
